PKRA Tarifa, well… I am so happy – I can’t describe it. I got 2nd in the discipline Big Air – it’s an amazing feeling to stay on a podium at the Worlds. When I registered I was not sure about competing in this discipline, but it was the best decision I could make. AND I am also stoked about my 6th place in a row after the World’s at my homespot in St. Peter-Ording. Now I am on rank 12 – not bad for just competing on 3 events of the tour.
So, let’s tell you more about my time in Tarifa. I travelled with Linus Erdmann – the German Champion 2014. It was great to travel with a friend, we had a great time there – and he lives in Hamburg too.
This time I had to do the trials / qualification rounds. In the first round of the trials I finished 2nd and in the last round 1st – so I made it into the main event. I had a really long day, because we run some rounds of the Big Air contest too.
In the Singles I lost against team mate Paula this time – she was riding really good. But I am also happy with my tricks – 4 consistent ones. In the Doubles I wanted to show my best 5 tricks.
So, after the Singles we started the Doubles. I could win my first heat against Julia Castro and after that I had my best heat in my PKRA career and I passed against Rita Arnaus. I was up against Paula in the next round – unfortunately I lost in a close heat.
It was great to see all my friends of the tour again and to spent besides kitesurfing great days in Tarifa.
After the price giving ceremony it was time to go home – 🙂
It’s my 6th German Champion title in the discipline Freestyle. Stoked!
The last stop took place on Fehmarn. We had three windy days to finished both disciplines freestyle and race in the categories men, women and juniors.
I am super happy about my finals – all with my team mate and friend Nina Schumacher – you deserved it !!!!! Congrats to her for her 2nd place and her Vice German Champion title 2014.
We had three stops of the German Champion Tour “ Kitesurf-Trophy“ this year. Sylt, Warnemünde and last but not least Fehmarn. I could win all of them – and I am super happy about that. I rode my best heats in this comps and I got my consistency for competitions. Consistency is the key for competitions – before I thought it’s more important to learn tricks as fast as I can and if I sticked it once I am able to do it also in the heat – wrong! Now, I am starting to train in a different way and it helped me a lot to show more and good tricks in every competition.
I had an amazing time and I want to thank my sponsors, supporters, Rike and the whole crew of the Kitesurf-Trophy – I hope to see you next year again…
The Think Blue Kitesurfworldcup in St. Peter Ording went pretty well for me.
I spent wonderful 10 days with my BFF in my great big Sunlight Camper. She is the BEST Caddy in the world 🙂 !
Lucky me – I got a wildcard – so I was already in the main event without doing the trials / qualification rounds.
Unfortunately in the Singles I lost in my first heat against Katarzyna Lange – I was on a really fast 5qm Vegas, which was not even my kite and I could not land many tricks. Congrats to her landing a BJ in these conditions, wind was up to 47 knots in our heat. In the next days I had some time for sponsors and for fun competitions. High Sierra organized I “ SUP – Sabrina Lutz “ competition – everyone who bets my time – wins a backpack or trolly. 🙂 I am very proud of my BFF, because she won a great backpack.
Doubles went great for me. I was riding really consistent – got my highest scores so far in the comp and I could win 2 heats against Manuela Jungo and team mate Paula Novotna. All in all I got a great 6th place here at my homespot.
I am super HAPPPY about it and I am looking forward to rock the PKRA in Tarifa soon !
After a month break for family, christmas and New Year`s Eve in Hamburg. I booked a flight to Egypt – Hamata – Kitevillage. The first week I spent in the camp with some wicked people and a lot of wind and sooo much fun in the warm water.
So then, I packed my stuff to go for a week to Soma Bay for the pre-photoshoot with my NKB team mate Mario for the Red Sea Kitesurfworldcup at the Palm Royale Beach Resort and the Pointbreak Kitesurf station , where the first PKRA will take place from the 28th of May – 1st of June 2014 !!!! Don’t miss it !
I had wonderful and great days with the photo and film crew while filming, taking amazing pictures, snorkelling, diving and eating well.
Here a little sneak peak of some making of pictures.
After that windy and fun week I went back to Hamata – Kitevillage. There I had the chance to spent the last week with my passionated rider „Daddy“ on the water… All I can say is: „It’s the best thing in the world, to do the same sport with your family – the greatest sessions are always with your family and I am very happy that I have parents, who are loving the sport like I do“
Now I am back in Hamburg and it’s time for fitness… till the next trip and competition… shaka!
